A salary dump in the off season and the acquisition of a big man still didn’t change much in New Jersey. They still are a pretty damn bad team.
Besides one legit scorer in Vince Carter, the Nets can’t rely on no one else to score a large amount of points. Some people do say the Nets have a better frontcourt with Yi Jianlian and rookie Brook Lopez. Yi Jianlian is to skinny and it doesn’t look as if he has that demeanor to go down and play physical. While no one knows what Brook Lopez is capable of doing, but he was a physical type player and showed that at Stanford. Inexperience in the frontcourt is pretty much the death card for the Nets.
While in the backcourt Devin Harris and Vince Carter present a tough task to guard. Look for some alley-oop connections between the two. Anyways, both players can score, but Devin Harris still has to prove he can score on a consistent basis.
Overall, it looks like the Nets are in a rebuild mode or something like it, and won’t have a good season. The Nets most certainly aren’t making the playoffs, and may just finish lower than tenth in the East. Look for Chris Douglas-Roberts the rookie out of Memphis to chip in with a good season.
POSITIVE --> NOTHING RIGHT NOW
NEGATIVE --> THE MAKEUP OF THE ROSTER
X-FACTOR --> VINCE CARTER. HIS PLAY WILL DETERMINE THE OUTCOME FOR THE NETS GAME BY GAME.
SLEPER PICK --> CHRIS DOUGLAS-ROBERTS.
PREDICTION --> NO PLAYOFFS.
OVERALL --> LOSING BASKETBALL.
