Anytime you have LeBron James on your roster, expectations are high. That is the case again. After 14-15 months removed from the 2006 NBA Finals, the Cavs took a step backward last season losing in seven games to the Celtics in the second round of the playoffs.
Late last season the face of the Cavs changed with the addition of Ben Wallace, Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak in a trade that sent Drew Gooden packing. In the off season another deal went down to bring in Mo Williams.
The same old question remains though, will LeBron receive any scoring help? For another season things look bleak in that situation. It looks like LeBron will probably put another 30 PPG campaign and get serious consideration for the MVP. With that the Cavs offence looks good to go once again. One player who may just step up could be Delonte West. Late last season he flourished playing beside LeBron. Another player could be Daniel Gibson if he has fully healed from surgery on his left ankle, an injury which he suffered late last season that hurt the Cavs. We’ll just see how good the addition of Mo Williams will play out at the guard position.
Right there are three players that can help LeBron, but are they big time players, who can hit clutch shots consistently, and not just one game Daniel Gibson or one playoff series (2006 East Finals vs. Detroit).
The Cavs look to have a solid team with good not great frontcourt and some shooters who can light it up here and there. Offensively they are fine, and the defense looks solid as well. Then again, it all comes down to how good LeBron wants to be, because the success of the Cavs all depends on LeBron. It looks like he’ll be one of the best again, which is good news for the Cavs, because he makes the players around him better.
POSITIVE --> LEBRON JAMES
NEGATIVE --> SCORING HELP FOR LEBRON
X-FACTOR --> DANIEL GIBSON FROM THE PERIMETER AND IF HE DEVELOPED MORE OF A RUNNING GAME, OR ANY.
SLEEPER PICK --> DELONTE WEST. LOOK FOR SOLID SEASON. WILL BE PLAYING WITH LEBRON FOR FULL YEAR.
PREDICTION --> PLAYOFFS, BOOK IT. WILL CHALLENGE DETROIT TILL THE END FOR DIVISION TITLE. TOP FOUR SEEDING.
OVERALL --> IT WILL BE THE LEBRON JAMES SHOW, AGAIN.
